Description: Cairn is a tactile mountaineering simulator where you play as Aava, who decides to conquer the inaccessible Mount Kami. Controlling every movement of the arms and legs requires attention, patience and a good eye: get it wrong and you’ll be in for a long fall. Climbing here is not an action game, but almost a meditation under tension: you feel the trembling in your knees, count your heartbeats and spend a long time choosing the next point of support.
The game starts with a cozy climbing wall, where you master the basic mechanics, and then releases you into a living, hand-drawn terrain – the Tenzen mountain range. Here you collect resources, cook noodles in the bivouac, repair broken pitons and wait for dawn so as not to climb in the dark. All this works as a natural rhythm of survival: neither hunger nor thirst allows you to relax, but they also do not put pressure on you – the system is balanced and not punishable.
The developers of Furi and Haven put the spirit of real mountaineering into Cairn: slow, dangerous, but deeply personal. You choose the route yourself, take the risks yourself and rejoice when you finally touch the top. This is not a game for speedrunning – it is a challenge to your endurance, where every centimeter of height is given honestly.
