Description: I Hate This Place is an isometric survival horror game where every step could be your last, and reality bends under the pressure of a nightmare. You’re stuck in the cursed land of the Rutherford Ranch, a place where the forests whisper with distorted voices, the bunkers are crawling with mutants, and the night brings creatures that hunt only sound. As the main character Elena, who lost her friend at the very beginning of the journey, you have to survive: look for resources, craft equipment, strengthen shelters and move through fear, not knowing what awaits behind the next door.
Day is your ally. During daylight hours, you can safely explore abandoned buildings, collect junk for crafting, repair camps and prepare for the horrors of the night. But as soon as the sun goes down, everything changes: enemies become more aggressive, the landscape is deformed, and the silence is broken by walls crawling along the ceiling. Many monsters hear every movement – a slamming door, a shot, even a step on a crunchy floor can turn into a deadly chase. It’s better to sneak around, distract enemies, lure them into traps, or just lie low and wait.
Visually, the game looks like it came straight out of an 80s comic strip: bright colors, bold outlines, pop-up “Bang!” and “Crash!” with every shot or blow. This style is strangely calming – until you hear something crawling right behind the wall. Battles are possible, but ammo is rare, and fighting is almost suicide without upgrades. It is not strength that is valued here, but cunning. And yes, this black humor… it exists. Just try not to laugh too loudly – people will hear you.
