Description: City Tales – Medieval Era is not just another city building simulator, but a cozy medieval adventure where every citizen becomes part of your story. Unlike standard city planners, here you are not a faceless architect, but a real feudal lord with a team of nine unique companions – each with their own character, backstory and personal requests. Here is a blacksmith asking you to help expand his workshop, and a nun wants you to build a new temple. By completing their tasks, you don’t just extract resources, but create living connections between people, and this makes even stone walls seem warmer.
The gameplay masterfully balances strategy and relaxation: you can spend hours designing neat neighborhoods with colorful flower beds and clothes dryers (yes, small details matter here), or you can accelerate time and watch how your village gradually turns into a bustling city. Interestingly, industrial buildings – sawmills, bakeries, forges – become automatic over time, freeing you up for creativity. For example, setting up benches near a fountain or planning the perfect location for a castle on a hill. True, there is a nuance: in each district you cannot build more than two public buildings, which is why you have to be cunning when choosing combinations – well + market or theater + hospital.
Visually, the game looks like a miniature from a medieval manuscript come to life: houses with sloping roofs, animation of peasants beating hammers on an anvil, and even tiny sheep in the pastures. Locations change from green valleys to rocky coasts, and background melodies with flutes and lutes create an atmosphere of leisurely prosperity. Particularly pleasing is the absence of cataclysms – no fires or barbarian raids, just a melancholy cloud over your head if you forgot to build another tavern.
