Description: Hordes of Hunger is a world devastated by the Plague Beast, where every step across the scorched lands is a battle for survival. Unlike many survival-likes, here you don’t just run around in circles, but have complete control over every sword strike, every dodge and parry. The focus system is especially impressive – fill the gauge in battle and unleash crushing heavy attacks on your enemies, tearing apart the ranks of creatures with bloody explosions.
The game’s setting is a dark combination of gothic and Lovecraftian nightmares. Some locations resemble burnt villages from medieval legends, others are distorted visions from the darkest dreams, where even the walls of temples breathe and pulsate. The main character Mira, with her sarcastic remarks and tragic story, gives the world life, and characters such as the mysterious Father at the roots of the ancient Tree add depth and mystery.
The gameplay offers a successful combination of mechanics: the crafting system allows you to create unique weapons by combining blueprints, and leveling up your skills opens up room for experimentation. You can build an invulnerable tank with a greatsword or a mobile assassin with dual daggers – each playstyle feels different. When ranks of mutated monsters close around you and you perform deadly pirouettes, the game is completely captivating.
