Description: The Sinking City Remastered is an immersion in madness, where every flooded lanes whispers to your ear of lavcraft warning. Okmont, a city slowly leaving under the water, became a house for something ancient and inhuman. You are Charles Reed, a detective with anxious visions, and your investigation quickly turns into a struggle not only with monsters from the depths, but also with your own rationality. Unlike typical horror, here you are not just to survive – you will have to compare evidence, look for connections between victims and decide which truths should be disclosed and which are better to leave in the shadows forever.
Gameplay is a mix of detective detective and Survival Horror with an open world. The card does not hold the handle: to find key locations, you need to analyze the notes, compare the addresses and even take into account the level of flooding of the districts – some streets are available only by boat. The battles with the creatures are tense, but not the main thing: the cartridges are in short supply, and each shot attracts the attention of something worse. Remaster on Unreal Engine 5 added details to the city: now glare on wet asphalt, flashlights in puddles and even air distortions over the water look frighteningly realistic.
Photo mode is an unexpectedly successful addition for playing with such an atmosphere. You can capture the distorted silhouettes in the fog, half -headed churches or the moment when the shadow on the wall suddenly moved for no reason. For Lovecraft fans, this is also a chance to consider architectural references: from ar-deco buildings to ominous bas-reliefs, which were definitely not in the original version.
