Description: The Lightkeeper is a psychological horror with a simulator elements, where you find yourself alone on a distant island in 1925. The main character is Arthur, a veteran of the First World War, who decided to hide from the past at the work of the lighthouse caretaker. It all starts like a routine: light a fire, turn off the foggy mountain, check the oil reserves. But already on the first day, something is going wrong. A note in the radio room warns: if you see a crow, trouble is close. And outside the window there is a bird tornado above three crosses on a cliff.
The island lives on its own. Bird’s corpses, keys on grave crosses, a closet clogged with bottles – all this is left after the previous caretaker, who, judging by the notes, went crazy. Arthur is trying to hold on, because he knows hell – only his own. But isolation, nightmares and strange figures against the background of the lighthouse erase the line between reality and visions. Each task – whether it is a bypass or check of a well – turns into a test. Where does the truth ends? And who completely left these notes?
The game does not hold at the atmosphere: gray tones, thick fogs, creak of boards, winding of winds. You explore the island at your pace, read notes, fulfill duties, but you feel it all the time – they are watching you. Three finals are waiting at the end, and the choice depends on how you perceived what is happening. This is not an action, but a slow immersion in someone else’s madness … and, possibly, its own.
