Description: Tempest Ringing is a nostalgic explosion from the past, which deftly balances between the tribute of respect by Command & Conquer and fresh ideas. The action takes place in the post -apocalyptic 1997, where the two fractions – the technocratic GDF and the militaristic Tempest Dynasty – are fighting for control over the mysterious resource of Tempest. If the first bet on the well-coordinated work of drones and high-precision strikes, then the second prefers flameters, spherical rolling tanks and other crazy equipment, as if that seemed to have come down from the drawings of a crazy engineer.
The gameplay retains the spirit of classic RTS with its high -speed construction of bases, massive tank attacks and the micro -management of units, but adds modern chips. For example, GDF has a “rebel” – a machine that does not kill enemies, but stunes, allowing the allies to finish them off. And the missions often require not just “destroy the enemy base”, but to point the infrastructure: to blow up plants, intercept convoys or hold positions under squash fire. Particularly good tasks in the style of “Commandos”, where a couple of special forces with unique skills (invisibility, airline) make his way through enemy rear.
Visually, the game resembles Warhammer 40k – massive tanks with smoking pipes, gloomy bases in the style of bunkers of the Third Reich and kinematographic explosions. Even the interface is stylized for retro computer: GDF has blue holograms, Dynasty has green terminals in the spirit of DOS. Music from Frank Klepaki (yes, the same one of the Command & Conquer) perfectly complements the atmosphere: heavy guitar riffs for battles, gloomy synthesizer topics for soaking.
