Description: MIO: Memories in Orbit is a mesmerizing metroidvania where you play as the little robot MIO, who awakens on a giant space “Ark” long abandoned by its AI caretakers. The world around is overgrown with wild vegetation, filled with gloomy ruins, living ecosystems and mysteries hidden in watercolor landscapes that look like they came straight from a canvas. There is no map at hand here – only memory and curiosity guide you through the labyrinth of forgotten corridors and ancient machines.
Gameplay requires precision, rhythm and patience: double jumps, grappling hooks and the ability to cling to walls turn every movement into a ballet over the abyss. Death is costly – you lose the accumulated crystal resource “necr” if you did not manage to secure it in special terminals. More than 30 enemy types and 15 guardian bosses test not only your reaction, but also your ability to combine modifiers, changing your play style: from evasion and tactics to outright aggression.
Beneath the layers of visual poetry and lo-fi choruses lies a profound sci-fi parable about memory, consciousness, and what it means to be “born” into the body of a machine. The game is in no hurry to reveal its secrets – it invites you to wander, make mistakes, die and return again in order, step by step, to revive the dying world and understand your role in it.
