Description: Chinese Frontiers is a construction simulator that transfers you to ancient China for a large -scale purpose: to build a great wall and turn a modest settlement into a flourishing city. The game deftly balances between the urban planning simulator and the historical adventure – you have to not only plan houses and workshops, but also personally participate in the creation of bricks, the extraction of resources and even the preparation of traditional dishes. The details add a special charm: peasants with their own character, seasonal changes in the landscape and legendary structures like the heavenly stairs of Jiancou.
What makes the game truly exciting is its versatility. You can spend one day by placing workers in the fields, and the next one is the next one – to lead the caravan through the desert for rare minerals or to reflect the raids of the nomads. Three unique biomes-mountains, wastelands and river valleys-require different strategies: somewhere you have to cut the roads in the rocks, and build irrigation channels somewhere. Suppie up technologies, from casting bronze to production of silk, and observe how your village is overgrown with masterful, tea and even imperial pavilions.
But Chinese Frontiers are not just “Simplified Anno”. There is a soul here. The story of two artisans, Juna and May, their advice and tense relations with the authorities add humanity to cold stone walls.
