Description: Anno 117: Pax Romana is a city-building simulator set in the heyday of the Roman Empire, where you rule a province as a governor, balancing the needs of the inhabitants, the demands of the emperor and cultural diversity. Choose whether to build a city in sunny Latium or explore the foggy swamps of Celtic Albion. In the latter case, what awaits you is not just colonization, but a dialogue of cultures – local residents demand beer and cheese, but as soon as “Romanization” begins, their tastes change to bread and sausage, and with them the entire production chain.
The economy here is flexible: unlike previous parts, you are not obliged to satisfy all needs – you just need to choose one of the options (for example, fish or grain) to maintain your level of contentment. This gives you freedom in planning: you can specialize in wine and fabrics or rely on religion – worshiping Neptune will increase the catch, and Vulcan will speed up production. Every decision affects development, from the location of aqueducts to the choice of deity on each island. And for the first time in the series, you can build diagonally – a small thing, but a joy for city planners.
In addition to trade and diplomacy, land combat returns: you can strengthen garrisons, form alliances, or openly challenge your neighbors – and even the emperor, if you’re brave enough. But even in peaceful mode, the game is addictive: you find yourself rebuilding neighborhoods for the sake of aesthetics, checking to see if the smelter is stuck between warehouses, and dreaming of how to drain the swamps of Albion… just not to forget about pangasius for the Celtic fishermen.
