Description: Dragonkin: The Banished takes you into a world torn apart by cursed dragons, where you are one of the last hunters able to stop their destructive influence. After an epic prologue demonstrating the full power of the available classes (Knight, Barbarian and Oracle), you start the journey from scratch – with tattered equipment and a meager inventory. The setting is reminiscent of a mix of Diablo and Dark Souls: dark cathedrals, snowy wastelands and bleeding dragon trophies, but with a unique element – the Ancestral Grid system.
Instead of a classic skill tree, Dragonkin suggests collecting “fragments” of abilities in the form of hexagons that can be combined and upgraded. Want to turn a simple lightning bolt into a chain attack with burns? Or make the Barbarian’s ice strike deadlier using neighboring passive mods? The principle “assemble the constructor as you want” works here. The graphics don’t shine with AAA detail, but epic shots like battles with giant dragons in the ruins of temples are impressive.
The game’s difficulty ranges from autopilot to rage-on-reboot, especially in NPC defense missions. But after the main campaign, the endgame opens: clearing dungeons for a while and “hunting boards” with giant bosses. Dragonkin is still raw, but the potential is visible – especially in co-op, where assembling a team from a variety of classes turns battles into a colorful show.
