Description: Quarantine Zone: The Last Check puts you in front of a moral dilemma that affects the fate of humanity. Instead of the usual zombie shooter, you don’t have to shoot, but think – sitting at the computer at the border checkpoint, you decide who to let into the “clean zone”, who to quarantine, and who… to eliminate on the spot. The morning begins with sorting through the papers of refugees: a vaccination certificate may also turn out to be a fake, and a harmless cough may be the first symptom of transformation.
Every day is a balance between humanity and survival. At first you only compare documents, but soon a whole arsenal will be used: UV flashlights for searching for bite marks, thermometers and even portable scanners. The more thorough the check, the slower the queue – and behind the panic in the crowd, you may not hear the death rattle of the “clean” in the quarantine bed. You also need to monitor provisions, strengthen barriers and remember: test sets are not endless, and sometimes the choice is based on intuition.
Graphically, the game plays on contrasts – a dull checkpoint office with green 80s monitors and faceless crowds behind glass create a depressing atmosphere. The creepiest moments come not from special effects, but from quiet details: the trembling hands of a refugee, inconsistencies in his background, or a sudden noise outside the door of a holding cell. This is not about “kill all the zombies”, but about how easy it is to turn into a monster yourself while trying to escape.
