Description: Mara is an atmospheric first-person psychological horror game where you play not as a silent hero, but as a living, talking thief who has received an order to steal artifacts from an ancient tomb in an abandoned mine. Instead of screamers and monsters, there is an alarming silence, barely audible rustles and darkness that presses harder than any enemy. Your “thief’s sense” highlights traces and objects, but does not save you from the feeling that someone is watching you.
The game is built on fragments: notes, scraps of memories, symbols in the landscape – all this adds up to a story about guilt, loss and a split consciousness. Low-poly graphics and a muted palette create the effect of a nightmare on the verge of sleep and reality, and the voice of the main character – sincere, sometimes ironic – becomes a guide in this strange world. He is not silent, not robotic, but reacts to what is happening as if a real person is next to you.
Controls are deliberately limited: the flashlight flickers, objects are grappled with force, and the space is labyrinthine. These solutions don’t hinder—they enhance vulnerability and immersion. The game literally forces you to tense up in silence, listen to your own breathing and think: what if you are not just here for artifacts?
