Description: Imagine a world where the Second World War did not subside in 1945, and in 1949 Europe moans under the oppression of giant mechanized soldiers. Grit and Valor – 1949 transfers you to this gloomy alternative reality, saturated with the spirit of Dieselpank. There are no brilliant technologies of the future – only heavy, steaming machines that walk with a roar through ruined fields. You are the commander of the elite detachment of the furs, the last hope of resistance. Your mission? Pull command transport with a powerful electromagnetic impulse through enemy lands that can cut down the enemy headquarters and turn the course of the war. The setting clings to its atmosphere: rusty buildings, the smell of oil and endless battles in a world where hope is a rare guest.
The gameplay is a boil boiler in real time with a horned plaque. The cards are small, but the battles for them are real tests. The focus of attention is your bellows, each with their strengths: ballistic guns crumble flamethrower, flamethrows fry the explosives, and those, in turn, tear ballistics. Add to this pilots with unique skills – from jumping with crushing landing to the laying of mines – and get the scope for maneuvers. Between the waves of enemies, you need to quickly rearrange the cars, look for shelters or occupy a height to get an advantage. And there is also the same transport that cannot be lost: its destruction is the end of the mission. After each battle, you return to the base, where you intensify the detachment for the collected resources, preparing for new challenges.
Visually, the game is like a revived diorama: the isometric battlefields soar in the Sepiyna fog, and the furs, angular and massive, look as if they were collected in the workshop of the 40s. This is not a glossy Sci-Fi, but a rough, almost tangible aesthetics of a dieselpank, where each shot leaves a trace. Four regions of Europe-from the British islands to New Germany-offer different conditions: somewhere you will be sores of heights, somewhere-bombing. The mechanic mianic is kept in good shape: the battlefields are generated randomly, and the awards for victories allow you to experiment with improvements. Grit and Valor – 1949 – this is about stressed contractions, where each move is important, and about how hope for freedom is born from a pile of scrap metal.
