Description: Castle Craft is an insane hybrid of tower defense and voxel fortress simulator, where you build impenetrable strongholds from loose wood and flimsy stone, and then watch in horror as swarms of skeletons crush them to pieces. You are the right hand of King Debimius, whose main talent is to sit proudly on the throne while you fight off waves of increasingly strange enemies for him – from ordinary bony warriors to giant skeletons throwing pieces of the landscape like grenades.
There is no boring clicking on units – you simultaneously manage the economy (the peasants cut down the forest and harvest the crops themselves), design traps in the spirit of “Orcs Must Die” and personally swing the sword, plugging holes in the defense. A special thrill is the physics of destruction: when an enemy cyclops breaks through a wall, and your archers fall into the resulting gap along with the rubble, it looks both epic and funny. You can also build giant catapults that launch enemies into space – but be careful, they sometimes come back.
The game is surprisingly deep for early access: three unique biomes, leveling up the hero and garrison, and between waves of attacks – tough economic decisions (fortify the gate or hire a squad of elite crossbowmen?). Castle Craft is Minecraft on steroids, where every defeat ends with a memorable sight: your king shouting “I told you so!” flies into the abyss riding on a destroyed throne.
