Description: Banquet for Fools plunges you into the dark world of pagan cults and cursed lands, where the truth is hidden behind the veil of ancient rituals. You lead a squad of four guards as they investigate the mysterious disappearance of workers on the island of Invimon, a place where even the trees whisper curses. There are no convenient quest markers or a magic compass: to solve the mystery, you will have to read scrolls, memorize paths and observe the routine of local residents, whose shops can be robbed under the cover of darkness (if you are prepared for the consequences). The world lives by its own laws – guards patrol the streets, merchants sleep soundly after sunset, and every decision you make affects relations with factions.
The gameplay combines deep RPG mechanics with an unusual combat system. Battles take place in real time with pause, but the real highlight is the pagan magic that requires you to literally draw runes with blood right on the screen. Want to create a spell that causes poisonous spores? Draw the Faun symbol and add the Rot rune. You can also train your companions in battle songs – from epic ballads that increase attack at the start of battle, to funeral chants that are activated when an ally dies. And if you’re tired of fighting, try alternative approaches: stun your enemies and send them to the Island of Exiles, where the ghosts themselves will bring justice.
The visual style is reminiscent of animated engravings from medieval bestiaries: angular characters with glowing eyes, gloomy landscapes where even the grass seems unnaturally alive. A special charm is the “Intercession” system, which allows you to beg for help from the forgotten gods. Find their statues, fulfill the conditions (for example, sacrifice the best sword) and receive unique artifacts. But be careful: deities are capricious and can send a curse instead of a blessing.
