Description: Yield! Fall of Rome is a strategic game that fit an epic 4x-janra into dynamic half-hour sessions. You have to lead one of the barbaric factions against the background of the sunset of the Roman Empire, where each move is a choice between diplomacy and expansion. Do not wait for dozens of moves while units are built or technologies will be investigated – here the solutions instantly change the alignment of forces, and victory is achieved not with total dominance, but by the implementation of specific conditions.
The mechanic resembles a skilled mix of Civilization and table strategies: the map is divided into provinces, resources are spent immediately on buildings or troops, and “crown” (victory glasses) are earned not only by war, but also by the control of key points. The system of cultural influence is especially interesting: when meeting with the Romans, you can adopt their technologies by preserving identity, or reject other traditions, having received unique bonuses.
Stylized graphics with “toy” units and locations do not look primitive – on the contrary, emphasizes the chamber and clear gameplay rhythm. The campaigns, although short, are connected by the consequences of decisions: an alliance or conflict with Rome in the same mission will affect the conditions in the following. For those who love strategies, but are not ready to spend hours on one match, this is ideal.
