Description: Wartorn is a tactical RPG with roguelite elements, where you lead a caravan through war-torn lands. Two sisters, Yara and Elani, are looking for a way to their ancestral fortress, gathering companions from the most unexpected creatures: from forest spirits to demons. The battles here are not just a head-on battle: you need to take into account the elements, the positioning of units, and even weather conditions. Water extinguishes fire, resin strengthens it, and lightning strikes wet ground – such little things can decide the outcome of a fight.
What makes Wartorn stand out the most is the feeling of a real journey. Your caravan requires constant attention: you need to monitor food supplies, maintain morale and choose a path on the map, where every turn threatens new challenges. Battles take place in real time (with the possibility of slowing down), but without unnecessary fuss: no bases, just management of small squads and their abilities. Different unit types – elves, goblins, werewolves – open up a lot of tactical variations, and failure… well, it’s roguelite.
Stylistically, the game looks like a book miniature come to life: detailed 2D illustrations, dark fantasy locations and characters with charisma. The plot is to match – you will regularly come across excerpts of family chronicles, and your decisions will affect which of your relatives will be saved. Wartorn skillfully balances complexity and fun, offering those who love tactics something truly fresh.
