Description: Tales of Berseria Remastered is a re-release of a dark JRPG with one of the strongest stories in the series, where you play as Velvet Crow, a woman crushed by pain and thirsting for revenge. The action takes place in the world of Despair – an archipelago under the rule of the Holy Empire of Midgand, where malakim spirits coexist with people, and the Daemonblight disease turns people into monsters. After a tragedy that destroys her family, Velvet becomes a Theriyon, a special type of demon, and embarks on a journey of rage, loss, and a slow return to humanity.
Your companions are more than just accessories: the samurai Rokuro, the mad witch Majilou, the cursed malak Eisen, the healer Eleanor and the spirit child Lapichet, each with their own history, ideals and traumas. Their interactions, especially in their signature skits, are filled with humor, warmth and drama, gradually turning the group of rebels into a real family. The Liberation-LMBS combat system offers dynamic battles in real time: chain arts, control the Soul Gauge, use Break Soul to extend combos and counter strikes. Although the balance is a little lame – Velvet is too strong – the game still keeps you in suspense, especially at high difficulty levels.
The remaster does not turn the game upside down: the graphics are a little clearer, the colors are brighter, but this is just a port with improvements, and not a full update. But convenient features have been added – fast movement from the very beginning, Grade Shop with bonuses from the first minutes, simplified collection of loot and new indicators. For beginners, this is the best way to immerse yourself in this story. For old fans, it’s a chance to remember how one of the most emotional RPGs in recent years still hits straight to the heart.
