Description: The protagonist Hazel was not looking for adventures – they overtook her in the small town of Prospero during a hurricane who took her mother in a whirlpool of mystical events. South of Midnight immerses in the world of South Gothic, where folklore creatures come to life, and the past leaves on reality the gaping rally wounds – “Stigma”. Moving through the overgrown swamps, abandoned estates and creepy-in-in-aimed forests, Heisel uses the wagation of the weaver: he controls the threads of fate, creates platforms from the air, and its knitted Cratin satellite helps to solve puzzles.
The combat system combines dynamic dodgers with spectacular animations of unwinding enemies – there are no classic levels of complexity, but the skirmish style is gradually revealed as skills study. True, enemies are more likely to serve as an obstacle between the plot moments than a full -fledged challenge. Platforming is much more interesting – especially the sections with a shoot from gigantic creatures like a lake monster of a double -pound volume, in the womb of which Hazel is after a seemingly victory.
The visual language of the game is impressive: flickering, as if in puppet animation, characters, screeched landscapes and amazing work with light. Musical moments were especially successful – blues ballads are suddenly woven into the gameplay, commenting on what was happening. The philosophical depth of the plot that examines the collective injury is surprising, although the rhythm of the narrative is sometimes lost due to monotonous skirmishes with the same opponents.
