Description: One-eyed Likho (dashingly one-eyed) is a gloomy journey deep into Slavic folklore, where a drunken blacksmith and his tailor companion voluntarily go in search of a single-eyed dashing-and quickly understand that some fairy tales are better not to disturb. Having climbed into an ominous hut in the middle of the forest, they find themselves in the maze of the otherworldly worlds, where bleeding bags, idols with empty eye sockets and a stove with human bones are just the beginning of their nightmare.
The main tool here is fire. Endless matches illuminate the path, burn obstacles and even distract the monster, turning the game into a strange ritual for pyromanans. But be careful: the flame goes out of the web, and in the darkness it hides not only famously, but also riddles – from the calculation of candles to the decoding of ancient characters. Black and white granular graphics, reminiscent of the “lighthouse” of Eggers, enhances the feeling of surrealism, and carved idols and frescoes in underground caves seem to whisper: “It is not for nothing that in fairy tales from the dashing they run, and not look for it.”
Although the chases and stealth episodes with the monster do not scare the sophisticated players, One-eyed Liko delays the atmosphere of the mystical legend. The dialogs of the blacksmith and tailor, the duet of voice acting from Gamesvoice and the eerie mini-games in the “hub” between the levels-as the pages of the old book that you want to flip through, even if the ending is a foregone conclusion. After all, the main thing here is not to survive, but to understand: what kind of force makes a person voluntarily step into the mouth to the darkness?
