Description: Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves returns a cult franchise after 26 years, and this is not just a nostalgic remake – the game rethinks a classic formula for a new generation. The southern city with its neon signs and suspicious types looks more lively than ever: Street fights are still ruled here, but now with detailed 3D models that have retained the spirit of the SNK corporate identity. Terry Bogard was aged, but his “Buster Wolf” is also painful, and new faces like a music scientist causing fresh blood in the already noby company of fighters.
The combat system is a smart mix of an old school and modern mechanic. Four attack buttons (light/strong blow with your hand and foot) can scare newcomers, but the Smart Controls system with autocomobo and simplified special receptions helps to get comfortable. The main feature is the Rev-meter: instead of spending a charge, you accumulate it, risking to overheat and lose protection. Rev Blow, armored attacks, work only in certain segments of health (which can be configured), adding tactics layers. And there is also a “perfect protection” that restores a little health, and the customization of the characters is from the palette of flowers to opening art from the series archives.
Single modes will delight both fans of plots and those who love pumping: in addition to classic Arcade with unique endings, there are “episodes of the southern city”-an RPG-like mode with pumping stats and missions like “winning 5 enemies in a row” or “survive against an invulnerable opponent”. Yes, two guest characters (footballer Ronaldo and DJ Ganacci) are knocked out of stylistics, but 17 basic Roster + 5 fighters leave the scope for classic showdowns in seasonal passage.
