Description: Fall of an Empire is a strategy where you don’t build an empire, but fight for its survival in the last days of its existence. You became emperor after a bloody coup, but your inheritance turned out to be a curse: an empty treasury, depleted legions, provinces seething with uprisings. Your goal is not conquest and expansion, but simply to survive longer than history predicts. Manage resources, suppress rebellions, fight wars on multiple fronts and weave political intrigues before darkness consumes everything.
The center of the game is living characters: senators, generals, spies. Everyone has their own ambitions, connections and loyalty, which can crack at the slightest miscalculation. One wrong appointment and the whole power bloc becomes an enemy. Economics and logistics are felt physically: caravans with food travel across the map, and their loss can result in starvation in the army. Cities develop along branches where the choice of one path excludes another – each decision has long-term consequences.
Battles combine real time and tactical moves with a time limit. War is going on everywhere: winter famines, epidemics, barbarian raids – the threats are only accumulating. There is no victory here. There is only survival. And your legacy is how much time you managed to gain before the inevitable decline.
