Description: Aether & Iron is a noir tactical RPG with visual novel elements where you become Gia Randazzo, a smuggler with a past steeped in silk dresses and shady dealings. The action takes place in an alternative 1930s New York, floating on the anti-gravity energy “ether”. Here art deco meets science fiction: cars glide along airways, towers touch the clouds, and crime and corruption simmer beneath the golden facades. You transport cargo, but soon find yourself at the center of a conspiracy linking scientists, trade unions and oligarchs who keep the city on a leash.
The game lives with dialogues, Gia’s internal monologue and a system of dice rolls: every choice can work or fail – just like in life. You can lie, intimidate, seduce or act smart, but fate always adds a drop of chance. And in battle you will find an unusual sight – turn-based battles in cars. Shootouts, ramming and maneuvers between lanes require strategy, while vehicle modifications and crew upgrades add depth. There is even a smuggling system: hide goods in hiding places so as not to get caught at checkpoints.
The world breathes style: from voice acting with the hoarseness of an old radio to music in the spirit of jazz nightclubs. Visually it is luxury and dirt, grandeur and decline. This is not just a game. This is an immersion in an era that did not exist, but would very much like to.
