Description: Slyders is a crazy FPS roguelike in the spirit of survival, where you take the role of the rebel fox Arex on a supersonic battle turtle to fight against demonic hordes in the sky islands. Each run lasts about 15 minutes, but during this time you have time to summon the elephant warrior Bernard, launch bombs at waves of enemies and collect a bunch of perks, turning from a beginner into a living weapon of chaos. Everything happens in first person: you shoot, dodge a hail of bullets and constantly move – because enemies are coming from all sides, especially from behind.
The combat system is built on a combination of active, passive and automatic abilities that you choose as you level up. Want to drop lasers down a line of enemies? Or summon the giant sandworm Sandy to tear apart the crowd? Please. Weapons are also varied: from classic pistols to a lightning-fast laser gun, and when you kill bosses, you receive rare items and runes with useful effects, such as revival or improved dodge.
Despite the bright cartoon style and the trinity of heroes – a fox, a turtle and a bear with a jetpack – a real bullet-hell is raging inside: the screen is filled with shells, and on the last maps it becomes almost impossible to survive. But each race is short, intense and restarts with a new build, and the developer actively listens to the community, adding content like a winter location.
