Description: Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted is an updated version of the iconic tower assault strategy game where you defend your lawn from hordes of funny zombies with the help of an army of fighting plants. Sunlight is your currency, and every line of the lawn is a field for tactical experiments: from simple pea shooters to night-light mushrooms and pool lilies. The game retains the same ease that captivated millions in 2009, but now with HD graphics, smooth animation and the ability to speed up time by up to 2.5x.
The zombies here are not scary, but rather bizarre: with buckets on their heads, in disco costumes or on dolphins. Each requires a special approach – and this forces us to constantly rebuild our defense. Crazy Dave still sells seeds and brings his signature crazy humor, and the campaign step by step reveals new mechanics: fog, night, sloped roofs, dungeons and even a swimming pool. Everything is familiar, but that doesn’t make it any less exciting.
New challenges are in store for veterans: in Cloudy Day mode, sunflowers fall asleep in the rain, and in RIP Mode, there is only one life for the entire campaign and the only lawnmower in a random lane. There’s also Adventure+, where Crazy Dave chooses three plants for you, adding a roguelike element. Plus dozens of mini-games, puzzles, a Zen Garden, and even co-op if you’re up for the main campaign.
Replanted does not rewrite the classics, but carefully polishes them. Yes, in some places you can feel the age of the original – in the interface, in small bugs, in that very video with dancing zombies in the TV window. But when you catch the sunbeads again, place the pumpkin on the watermelon cannon and see Gargantua collapse under a hail of peas, it becomes clear: this garden is still worth staying in.
