Description: 1428: Shadows over Silesia is a dark role-playing game set in medieval Europe with dark fantasy elements. The year is 1428 with its “charms” in the form of religious oppression and rumors about the imminent end of the world. The Hussites have just embarked on a Silesian campaign against the Catholics, but true evil certainly doesn’t walk around in cassocks or wear shining armor. It is lurking somewhere nearby and waiting for the right moment to attack unsuspecting people.
The story is told from both sides of the conflict. Hynek, the sullen Hussite hetman, and Lothar, a Knight Hospitaller from the Silesian defence. Everyone has their own motives and views on what is happening, different equipment and abilities. Soon their destinies will be intertwined. Will they face each other in arms or form an alliance to face a much more dangerous enemy? The enemies will be not only the militias, knights and robbers encountered, but also supernatural creatures from European mythology, which should not be underestimated. The combat system is easy to understand, but requires practice to fully master. Remember that being in the minority is a problem. If several opponents attack you at the same time, then you are a non-resident.
The game definitely stands out for its visual component. Isometric stylized graphics are inspired by classic old-school RPGs. The dark atmosphere of dungeons or when traveling at night creates a beautiful contrast of light and shadow.
